Ancient survival skills, our natural connections and sense of community link ancient people to us who are here now.

At Kierikki, modern people returns to their prehistoric roots and learns both to discover ancient survival skills within himself and to see the strong bond between nature and himself. The community and spiritual culture of the Stone Age have laid the foundations for hundreds of generations since.

Ancient survival skills invite everyone to come together to build the future by drawing on the wisdom of the past.

This is how we implement Cultural Climate Change

At Kierikki, modern people can experience the past physically and spiritually.

The Stone Age burial complex, to be implemented in 2026, offers participants a unique journey into ancient rituals, highlighting beliefs, stories and the cycle of nature. The Ancient Market at the end of summer will expand into an experiential multi-day event where the past and the present intertwine.

All of Kierikki’s programme content for 2025 and 2026 is part of the official program of Oulu’s Capital of Culture year. See more information about the Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture.
