Parking

Free of charge customer parking in the yard of the Centre for Ancient Times. Disabled parking spaces are located next to the entrance.

Entry

Entry is fully accessible. A wheelchair ramp leads to the electronic entry door. You can request assistance in opening the door by ringing the doorbell.

The information desk is located in the lobby. There are coat racks and lockers in the lobby as well.

The interior spaces of the first floor of the Centre for Ancient Times are fully accessible.

Guide and assistance dogs are welcome in the Centre for Ancient Times.

There is an induction loop in the auditorium of the Center for Ancient Times.

Facilities and toilets

The interiors of the building are accessible, with the exception of the exhibition space in the loft of the restaurant, where an exhibition on the construction of the Iijoki River’s hydropower plant is displayed. Steep stairs lead to the exhibition space. There is no elevator in the building.

Accessible toilets are located in the lobby of the Centre for Ancient Times. There is a changing table in the accessible toilet.

You can borrow a wheelchair from the Centre for Ancient Times, which can be used in the Stone Age Village as well.

Stone Age Village

Entry

The distance between the Centre for Ancient Times to the Stone Age Village is 500 meters. The majority of the path is a two-meter-wide plank path, and partially a wide rock dust path. There is one steep hill on the path, which can be traversed by mobility impaired people with assistance. On rainy and snowy days, the plank path can be slippery.

It is also possible to enter the Stone Age Village by car over a gravel road.

Facilities and toilets

The Stone Age Village is partially accessible. It is possible to traverse accessibly in the central areas. The Stone Age Village guides will help the mobility impaired if needed.

The guides are dressed in Stone Age era leather attire and are easily recognizable.

Entering the central campfire site and the activity points is fully accessible. One of the dwellings in the village can be entered with a wheelchair. The Stone Age Village guides will assist mobility impaired customers with entering the dwelling.

Trapper’s path

The Trapper’s Path which circles around the Stone Age Village is primarily a two-meter-wide plank path, and partially rock dust path. There is an inclined slip at the beginning of the plank path.
