In the Stone Age, making stone objects was an important skill that required patience, precision and experience.

Stone objects played an important role in people’s daily lives and survival. Stone was used to make arrowheads, tools and jewellery.

Working stone required skill, patience and time. However, softer stone materials, such as slate, could be easily worked with sand and water to the desired shape. Harder stones such as quartz, quartzite and flint were used to drill holes.

The video shows how stone jewellery is made and introduces the different stages of stone carving.
